Q
What do I need to bring to the class I have enrolled in?
A
You will need to bring a note pad and pen for note taking and your booking confirmation form.
Q
Why does Emergency Asia provide both a Local Certificate and an International Certificate for their courses?
A
Some people require an International Certificate for their workplace, profession or for licensing requirements. For example teachers working in international schools, electricians with overseas licenses or sailing instructors usually need accreditation by an international organization and an International First Aid Certificate is required. For others, the Local Certificate is sufficient. If you do not know what certificate is relevant for you, contact: info@emergencyasia.com
Q
Why does the International Certificate cost more?
A
Emergency Asia is certified by International Authorities to teach, assess and issue International Certificates and there are charges that are applied to do this. There are also charges applied by the International Authorities to issue certificates and register participants on the International database. These charges are passed onto students who need the International Certificate.
Q
Why does my certificate need to be renewed every three years?
A
It is a requirement under the International Resuscitation Organizations that Emergency Asia adhere to that a first aider must renew their first aid certificate at least every three years to ensure that first aid skills are current.
Q
My certificate expired 2 months ago. Am I still current?
A
No, you need to complete another first aid course.
Q
I have always had a first aid certificate - until 5 years ago. Do I have to do the whole course again?
A
Yes, first aid knowledge and skills changes all the time and a new course need to be completed.
Q
I got my Senior First Certificate almost a year ago, and I was told that I should do a resuscitation course each year for the next few years. Is this true?
A
It is not a legal requirement to complete a resuscitation course each year. However, the Australian Resuscitation Council (www.resus.org.au) recommends that first aiders should be able to demonstrate their resuscitation skills on a regular basis. Emergency Asia recommends that a refresher course is done every year to ensure that a first aider is able to effectively perform resuscitation.
